Building identity and interior graphic package for NAB South Australian headquarters.

nab is the highest ranked financial brand in Australia. Woods Bagot are renowned architects with a global presence. Rodeo partnered with both companies, devising a brand identity for the bank’s headquarters in South Australia and an interior graphic package across the 11 floors of the building.

nab wanted the building to reflect the organisation’s values and priorities of transparency, flexibility, collaboration, community and wellness. With the bank having a mobile workforce that utiised hot desking, they also wanted to imbue the open plan spaces with a warmth that encouraged interaction, communication and creativity.

Layers of meaning
Based around the theme of 'home', the graphic system was devised by us to provide expression, assist wayfinding and integrate across all levels of the building, with specific graphic variation between floors. Distinctive and engaging touch points communicated the personal, individual and dynamic nature of the environment. This included playful and unexpected messaging in areas, such as the open kitchens, to spark conversations and build the on the notion of home.

The response to the graphic fit out was one of widespread approval coming from NAB’s general staff through to the bank’s then CEO Cameron Clyne. The project has also gone on to receive a number of awards.
